But when you link custom domain then your web address look different and unique without blogspot.com subdomain.

     Assume, If you don't have custom domain link to your website blog. And you want to upgrade your blog to wordpress, then there is no way to Reuse your blogspot.com domain name on custom hosting+wordpress. You have to stick to blogger.com forever. This is main reason why you should link a custom domain name on blogspot.com.

How to link custom domain name ?

Step 1 : go to web address blogger.com and login your Google account.

Step 2 : In the blogger dashboard look for 'Settings ' option.

Step 3 : Under settings option 

Choose custom domain name option. And enter your own domain name.

After entering your own domain name.click on save button. On clicking save button you get two CNAMEs . Copy that CNAMEs to your domain provider dns records section. And create new CNAMEs with that given details.
